Introduction

The launch of the new website is an effort to further preserve and promote the rich Tibetan Buddhist cultural heritage and make it more accessible to the growing number of Tibetans and non-Tibetans who are increasingly using internet.

The main objective of having a website was to give a good overview about the institution, its objectives and current initiatives. The Institute continues to provide number of social, religious and cultural assistance to society especially those among the Buddhist in Himalayan region.

The Institute under the guidance of Rinpoche continues to benefit number of monasteries, Buddhist institutes and society through its current initiative of setting up schools, clinics and other infrastructure for the welfare of both the sangha and lay community.

The primary role of a Tibetan monastery is to train and support monks in the practice of Buddhist spirituality, Rinpoche is keen to ensure that this does not go on behind closed doors. His monks are also actively involved in their local communities. For example, Chusang Monastery in Kathmandu operates a small clinic which continues to serve the medical needs of the local communities. Clinic is affiliated to the Yuthok Tibetan Medical Centre in Kathmandu (of which Chusang Rinpoche is Chairman).

The monastery clinic provides the services of a doctor qualified in traditional Tibetan medicine, Dr. Tsultim, also one of the senior monks in the monastery who oversees the preparation of traditional medicines. Other monks are engaged in serving the community's spiritual needs.
